FACTS ABOUT THE FLOWER:
The word Amaryllis comes from the Greek
word for "sparkling". And they do just that,
brightening up a spring lawn, or adding color
indoors on a cold, drab winter's day. Big,
cheerful, trumpet shaped blooms come in red,
pink, yellow and a few combinations
of these colors. A single flower blooms six
to eight weeks after planting. Plants can grow
up to two feet.

FACTS ABOUT THE FLOWER:
Cannas, or canna lilies, look like
banana trees without the trunk!
They're kin to bananas and gingers,
and their wide, furled leaves come
out of thick, multiple-eyed rhizomes.
Canna flowers are asymmetrical,
with three petals, three sepals
and three highly modified showy petal-like
stamens. They come in a rainbow
of shades from yellows, oranges,
reds and pinks. The flowers are
followed by a capsule with round,
shotlike seed

Water hyacinth (Eichornia crassipesand
related species) has been called the worst aquatic
plant in the world! It is native to South America,
but has been naturalized in most of the
southern United States and in many of the
world's subtropical and tropical climates.
Eachh flower has 6 bluish-purple petals joined
at the base to form a short tube. One petal bears a yellow spot. The fruit is a three-celled capsule containing many minute, ribbed seeds.

Angel’s trumpet belongs to the nightshade
family – and like many of its cousins, it’s poisonous.
In fact, all parts of angel’s trumpet are toxic,

and pets! While the entire plant is glorious in its
own right, angel trumpet’s main claim to fame
is its incredible foot-long, yellow-, pink- or salmon-colored, trumpet-shaped blooms.
These fragrant, tubular flowers are borne singly
and hang downward from their stems.

in a green calyx.
